Fast forward to 2014, Martin B is at Beatherder festival in the Ribble Valley, celebrating his birthday with some good friends. On stage is Vitalic. The sound coming off the stage cuts right through him. It is crystal clear and weapons grade. Martin has an epiphany and realises that the music they made back then was actually ahead of its time not behind it. He also knows that he doesn’t want to be one of those people who hits his deathbed saying, “I should have done that”. He resolves that The Big Boss album that never has to happen and that he won’t die with regrets. A year was spent reworking, upgrading and rediscovering the songs of The Big Boss in conjunction with outstanding producer NJC resulting in “Good Bad but not Evil” a rollercoaster of an album that takes you on a journey there and back again.
Firmly back in the writing saddle and now based in Macclesfield a more modern, electronic, dirtier, deeper Big Boss emerged on the follow up, “The Return of The Big Boss”, once again released by Ambiel. Live shows at Beatherder Festival, parties and eclectic venues saw the real return of The Big Boss.
In 2019 “Kiss The Machine” arrived. A filthy electronic beast of an album. 2020 saw a side project “I Witness” with poet Jason N Smith produce the acclaimed album “The Word”
The latest Big Boss album “In Transit’ is due for release in the summer of 2021.
